How the Sun Moves
The house is on a hill — blue sky view, great light all day. Morning sun rises over the courtyard, lighting the front of the house and the cabana; by late morning — around eleven, give or take with the season — it’s tracked overhead onto the pool. Golden hour lands poolside in the late afternoon, from about 5pm in winter to 7pm in high summer. Every surface is white, so the whole house works as a bounce — the light is just as good inside as out.
Parking & Permits
Ample parking for productions — room for up to 25 cars across three areas. For smaller teams, we recommend the House Lot, closest to the entrance and easiest for everyone.
House Lot
Closest to the front entrance; best for production vehicles carrying equipment.
Garden Lot
Just to the right of the front gate; ideal for team members with minimal gear, like photographers and talent.
Street Parking
If the House and Garden lots fill up, unload at the house, then move trucks and vans to the street to free up space for the rest of your team.
Permitting
Caster House sits in FilmLA’s permit zone. Pulling a permit is at your discretion — we always recommend it, and can report we’ve never had an issue with neighbors.
Large Crews
Crews with more than 25 vehicles must pull a permit and arrange off-site parking with a shuttle to site.
Lighting, Sound & Electrical
Lighting
The windows are large and arched, letting an abundance of light into the space — and it can be controlled with blackout curtains where needed. The courtyard is best in the morning; the pool from morning through midday into the afternoon.
Sound
The space is not soundproof. We’re perched on a hill and out of any direct flightpath, but there’s still some ambient noise from the neighborhood and the occasional plane.
Electrical System
Strong power with outlets throughout, and the circuit breaker is accessible.

InquireAbout
High in the hills of Los Angeles, hidden behind plaster arches and blue water, Caster House is a home for long afternoons, low gold light, and the quiet work of making something beautiful.
Caster House belongs to the two of us — Ali, a photographer, and Bryan, a producer. We spend our days making pictures for other people; somewhere in the middle of all that, we fell for a whitewashed house on a hill and turned it into a home for the work we love.

We kept it simple on purpose — white plaster, arched shade, blue water, and light that moves across the day like it’s on your side. Every corner is built to be shot and easy to love, a place that gives back whatever you bring to it.

So come make something. Bring your crew, your talent, your good idea — we’ll have the pool blue and the light waiting. We can’t wait to see what you make here.
